Cascara, whose name in Spanish means bark, is the dried bark of the coffee fruit. The bark is collected after the coffee beans are removed from it. It is then dried and packed.
Cascara is something between tea and coffee, even though it comes from coffee, it doesn't taste like coffee at all. It has a sweet, fruity taste with notes of hibiscus, rose, cherry, currant, mango and even tobacco. Also, the caffeine content in cascara is quite low at 111.4 milligrams per liter.
